Year–round Supply
Cassava (Manihot esculenta Cranzt) , or tapioca, is one of Thailand ‘s most important commercial crops. Typically, the plant is cultivated twice a year, February – April, and after the monsoon season, or November to January. Roots are then harvested 8-10 month after planting.
With 1.1 million hectares devoted to cassava, the country is producing 18-20 million tons annually, enough to satisfy starch industry demand all year round.
No Genetic Modification (GMO)
As the demand for cassava and starch continues to increase, research and development has been vital to satisfy this call for higher quality and yields. Since 1975, seven improved varieties, all free of any genetic manipulation ,have been introduced, and this work continues to ensure needs needs are met.
Stickiness: With a high ratio of amylopectin to amylose (80 :20),cassava starch gel with good freeze-thaw stability.

CATIONIC STARCH
Characteristic of Piraab products
- 1. Characteristic of our raw materials ( Tapioca starch ) , compared with corn starch
- 1. Amylopectin is contained more , glue liquid can be more advantage in stability
- 2. Gelatinization temperature :Lower (helpful to energy cost down)
- 3. High dulation, Superior in the strength of addhesive so on.
2. Characteristic of Piraab Starch ( characteristic of tapioca cationic starch )
Internal additive
1. Due to charge cationic ,applicability in various pH areas.
2. Due to characteristic of ion ,availability in strong affinity with an-ionic cellose or filler.
3. Due to the better absorbtion with pulp, it effects in the various strenght of resultant paper.
It also helps less BOD in wasted water.
4. Easiness of dewatering from paper machine wire, better to be released from press roll.
It will runproduction effciently.
Binder for coating clear coat
1. High anti-aging ,possibility for coating as stable.
2. Superior in forming film, you can expect to have stronger surface due to strong adhesive.
Internal bonding strength
1. Gelatinization temperature is lower than raw starch,it can helps to down the drying energy cost
under same paper manufacturing condition.
